The appeal of C2C platforms for secondhand products is on the rise, with 70% of regular online shoppers participating in buying or selling activities. In fact, a third of shoppers reported an increase in their secondhand purchases, while many also utilized these platforms to declutter their homes.
Notably, Dutch online shoppers are leading the trend in utilizing secondhand platforms.
Regional disparities in secondhand platform usage are evident, with varying participation rates in countries such as the Netherlands, Italy, the United Kingdom, Germany, and France.
Social Media’s Impact on Online Shopping
Social media integration is a key aspect of online shopping for most regular shoppers, with 70% using social media for inspiration and information, and 48% making direct purchases through these platforms.
