BBVA is leading the way in Spain with the highest number of CFA-accredited employees, and what’s even more impressive is the higher ratio of women with professional certifications compared to the industry average. In fact, 33% of the CFA Charterholders at BBVA are women, compared to the overall financial sector’s average of 18% in Spain.

What sets BBVA apart is its involvement in the CFA Ambassadors Program in Spain, a program launched by the CFA Institute which aims to promote quality training, strengthen relations with financial institutions, and enhance the presence of CFA professionals in the sector. BBVA, with the largest number of CFA-certified employees in Spain, has eagerly joined this initiative.

Two prominent individuals at BBVA, Eduardo García Hidalgo, CFA, Global Chief Investment Officer, and Inma Ansoleaga Imaz, CFA, Sustainability Manager, have been appointed as ambassadors by CFA Society Spain. Their role is to bring together the community of CFA investment professionals and candidates for CFA certification at BBVA, creating networking opportunities and facilitating interactions through various events and study groups.

The CFA certification is one of the most prestigious in the financial services industry, with over 190,000 CFA charterholders worldwide. Looking towards the future, changes are set to be introduced to the curriculum in 2024, incorporating practical digital modules in areas such as programming, data science, and artificial intelligence.

For units like BBVA Asset Management and Corporate Investment Banking, promoting these prestigious certifications is a top priority. They serve as a testament to the bank’s specialists’ qualifications in the world of investment and financial markets.
